Art From Around the World

The 4th graders have been learning about styles of art from various countries.  This week we are looking at scrolls from China and practicing ink painting.  Below are pictures of the students painting Asian inspired still lifes.  

Last week we looked at Kenyan batiks and made some of our own.  We painted wax onto fabric, and then put it into dye.  Finally we sewed it to burlap.

Getting Ready For Christmas

Three Creeks is bursting with Christmas spirit.  Teachers have been decorating their doors for a door decorating contest.  Which one is your favorite?

Kindergarten Sculptures

What do you do with all those old, wornout foam blocks and extra pieces of foam?  Make sculptures, of course!  The kindergarteners had so much fun building these.  They had fun problem solving to figure out how to get pieces to stand up without falling over.

Empty Bowls: A Huge Success!

Thank you to everyone who helped with Empty Bowls.  The event was a huge success.  We raised over $1500 for the food pantry!  It was wonderful to see the students serving food and having so many parents, teachers, and assistants there to help as well.  What a wonderful team effort this that benefitted  such a great cause.

Families enjoyed creating hands that were tied together to show ways we can prevent bullying in our school. 

Paper Bead Creations

4th graders are finishing up their paper bead bracelets inspired by the paper bead jewelry in Kenya and Uganda.  They rolled the beads themselves using recycled magazine papers.
